Privacy policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Level One, run by Dean Finlayson, Edinburgh, Scotland ("Level One", "we", "us") collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who is responsible for your information

Level One is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at dean@levelone.digital.

What we collect

We only collect what we need:

  • Details you give us when you book a call or get in touch, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name and what you'd like to talk about.
  • What we discuss and agree with you, such as notes from calls, quotes and emails.
  • Information needed to run your systems once you're a client, kept in accounts set up in your name.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • reply to you and arrange the call you asked for;
  • prepare quotes and carry out the work we've agreed;
  • send invoices and keep the records the law requires;
  • improve our service, without using your data to train anything for other clients.

Our legal basis

We use your information to take steps you ask for before a contract and to carry it out, to meet legal duties such as keeping tax records, and for our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries. We don't send marketing emails without your consent, and you can stop them at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the services that help us run Level One, such as our email, calendar and booking tools and the company that hosts this website, and only as much as they need. Where a provider is outside the UK, we make sure your information has the protection UK law requires.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't go further are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as we work together, and invoices and financial records for 6 years, as the law requires.

Keeping it safe

Access to your information is limited to what each system needs, accounts are protected, and client data stays in accounts you own.

Cookies

This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email dean@levelone.digital and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
